River Rock Grill was founded in 2009 by local area residents that see a tremendous opportunity in the town of Maynard. The heart of the community is the one mile strip through the center of town. It is a living community with residents all around and a vibrant farmers market all summer long. The founders purcha
sed the Sit 'n Bull Pub from the previous owner knowing full well it was previously part of the Maynard landscape. They retained the exterior color of the building knowing that it was a landmark. The intent was never to revive the old establishment, but rather bring something new while truly maximizing the potential of the location. The building was completely renovated and brought up to code on every level with new kitchens, bars, plumbing, electrical and outdoor seating. The name River Rock Grill comes from the simple beauty of a river rock that has been tumbled and polished by rolling river water and the fact that when you sit on our deck on a nice quiet evening you can hear the rolling water of the Assabet River which is our property line. River Rock Grill aims to provide an upscale casual atmosphere within miles of the surrounding towns while adding to the many choices on Main Street. Only the finest products were used from mahogany tables, Brazilian walnut flooring to a granite bar to add to the atmosphere. Above all River Rock Grill aims to be a great destination for private functions in our lounge, lazy afternoon lunches on the deck or a nice date night dinner in the dining room finished with a drink at the bar. The essence of the establishment is based around the philosophy that if you do your best to provide great food, great atmosphere, great value, served by staff that truly enjoy where they work and what they do, it will be a success. Just as the river rock continues to be polished and reshaped by the rolling water, we at River Rock Grill will continue to improve our guests experience every day.
